Shelters and rescues, we’re here to help.

We know your resources are tight. We know you have to make tough calls. The Working Cat Project aims to fill a need for feral cats or cats unsuitable for indoor living that come through your doors.

We want to emphasize that relocation of a feral cat should be a last resort. We will only take cats in who cannot be returned to their original location due to unsafe conditions, such as construction, risk of cruelty, or lack of a caretaker to feed and check up on them.

We screen potential barn homes to ensure the cats will be in a safe location and properly cared for. We have our cats vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and ear-tipped prior to placement. While under anesthesia, each cat is also thoroughly examined and treated for illness or injury.

There is a mandatory 4-week kenneling of the cats in the new location to allow them to get used to their surroundings before release. During this time, they can also recover from and be monitored for any ailments.
